Appeal for witnesses following robbery in Headington

At around 4.30pm on Thursday 10 December the victim, a 75-year-old woman, was approached outside the Manor Dental Surgery in Olser Road, Headington by an unknown man who wrenched her handbag from her before running off in the direction of the John Radcliffe Hospital.

The offender stole the handbag and its contents.

The victim sustained a broken arm and received treatment at the John Radcliffe Hospital for her injuries.

The offender is described as a white man, approximately 6ft tall and of medium build. He was wearing a black puffer style jacket with a hood, black trousers, black trainers and a black beanie style cap.

Investigating officer PC Robert Fisher, based at Oxford police station, said: “This was a frightening experience for the victim and I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.

“If you believe you may have information that could assist our investigation, please report online via our website or by calling us on 101, quoting reference 43200418348.

“Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
