SCAM INFORMATION FROM OXFORDSHIRE TRADING STANDARDS
The England Illegal Money Lending Team is launching its annual Stop Loan Sharks Week Christmas campaign on the 30th November. The theme this year is avoiding loan sharks online amid concerns more people are falling prey to unscrupulous lenders on social media. Worryingly, one in five victims met their lender on social media in the first half of 2020. To find out more visit: www.stoploansharks.co.uk

Friends Against Scams are launching on the 3rd December an initiative called ‘Scamnesty’ for a month. Scamnesty is designed to encourage everyone in the UK to have a chat with their loved ones about scams and to send in any scam or unwanted mail into the team free of charge. Communities will be encouraged to send their scam mail to the investigation team. You can find information on this from this link: www.friendsagainstscams.org.uk

I have sent two attachments about scams and hope you find them useful. Please do share this information with your members, friends and family.
