Appeal for witnesses following assault - Hobble Path

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault in Faringdon.

Between 6pm and 6.30pm on Thursday 22 October, the victim, a woman in her fifties, was walking along the Hobble Path which connects Southampton Street and Park Road when she was grabbed by an unknown offender.

The offender attempted to pull the victim away from the path. The victim ran away in the direction of Park Road.

The victim was not injured during the incident.

The offender was wearing a balaclava and black clothing. No further description of the offender is available.

Investigating officer PC Edward James, based at Didcot police station, said: “I understand that this will cause some concern and I would like to assure the local community that we are thoroughly investigating this incident.

“This was a frightening experience for the victim and I am appealing to anyone who has any information about the incident to come forward.
