COPING WITH COVID

Alert message sent 16/10/2020 16:23:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

Good Afternoon!

We are living in difficult and challenging times. At any moment, any one of us could be told to self-isolate to protect others, or could be taken ill. How would we manage? If we have family nearby, or good neighbours and friends who will quickly step in to do the shopping, collect medicines and otherwise rally round, that’s great! But not everyone has this kind of support network. What can we do?

Many Neighbourhood Watch schemes have been of great help to their local community since the Covid-19 crisis started. They, and other volunteers, have stepped up to identify, road by road, the people who need help from the Council or other service providers. Even Coordinators who are unable to provide physical help themselves have proved that they can fill a vital communications role through their existing neighbourhood network.

You may already have all this covered, but If not, and you feel that there is a need in your area, the attached notes might provide helpful guidance. They have been produced with the assistance of local coordinators already very active in this way, so it is practical and proven advice. But if you need more help or have questions, please just contact me.

Many thanks for all your work on behalf of your local community!

Regards

David
