Anti-Scams Training for Coordinators

Alert message sent 09/07/2020 17:41:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

Good Evening
In case you missed it, Trading Standards are offering 2 “Friends Against Scam” courses and 1 “Scam Champion Training” course and would be pleased to welcome you to join one of these:

·         Scam Champion Training - 16th July 2020, 10:30 – 12:30

·         Friends Against Scams – 20th July 2020, 10:30 – 12:00

·         Friends Against Scams – 31st July 2020, 13:00 – 14:30

The “Friends against Scams” courses raise awareness of scams and what to look out for and is aimed at anyone who would like to learn more about scams and how to deal with the different ones operating. After the course you will be recognised as a “friend” of the scheme and will be encouraged to talk to your friends and family about it, to help others become more scam aware.

The “Scam Champion” training is a more in depth course and is aimed at those who would like to deliver the “Friends against Scams” training to others. It will give you the tools and resources to enable you to deliver the training either to your friends and communities and/or as a volunteer for Trading Standards. You will need to have carried out the online Friends training which can be found on the website at https://www.friendsagainstscams.org.uk/training/friends-elearning

I hope many of you will find this valuable.

Regards

David
