Local attempted burglary

Alert message sent 04/05/2020 10:02:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

This is a report from a local Coordinator in OX2 8**,  area.  Please could  you forward.
I have included general crime prevention tips to prevent burglary. There is a useful crime prevention burglary toolkit  on https://www.ourwatch.org.uk/crime-prevention/crime-prevention-toolkits/burglaries

"One of my neighbours informed me today, that yesterday his friend who lives in Lovelace Road nipped out on his bike for less than half an hour to get cash from a machine. On his return, he discovered there had an attempted break in at his house. He informed the Police, who were very helpful and took the matter seriously as they think it might be linked with other burglaries in the area."

Ways to  Prevent Burglary:
Make your home look occupied, and make it difficult to break in.
Ensure your locks and security devices are of a high quality and specification.
Always lock your doors and windows before leaving the house or go to bed.
Keep keys away from windows and doors, preferably in a key safe.
Leave lights on when you go out. ...
Keep your garage door closed and locked.
