Appeal for witnesses following theft - Warwick Road

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a theft in Banbury.

Between 8.45 and 9.15pm on Tuesday 17 March, the victim, a woman in her sixties, was walking past St Paul's Church on Warwick Road and using her phone when she notice a man walking towards her. The man grabbed her mobile phone from her hand and ran away in the direction of the petrol station.

The offender is described as a black man in his twenties, approximately 5ft6ins tall and of a slim build. He was wearing a dark colour puffa-style jacket and dark blue trousers. He may also have been wearing gloves.

Investigating officer PC Samantha Devlin, based at Banbury police station, said: "This was a frightening experience for the victim and I am appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
