Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an attempted burglary on Portland Road.

At 1.35am on Tuesday (17/3), a resident was woken up by the sound of her dog barking. After checking her CCTV, she noticed a man walking along the wall to the side of the property wearing a face mask. It is believed that the offender attempted to gain entry to the neighbouring property.

The offender is described as a man in his twenties, of a shorter than average height and average build. He was wearing a dark leather jacket, dark trousers, dark trainers and a face covering. He was also carrying a rucksack.

Designated investigator Steven Nicklin is urging residents to check their CCTV, as well as any motorists passing through the area at the time to check their dash cam footage. If you have any information that can help with our investigation, call the 24-hour non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 43200089513, or report online.

Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111.
