Cyber Resilience Week Day 4

Alert message sent 08/11/2018 13:11:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

It’s the fourth day of Cyber Resilience Week and the focus is on Online Radicalisation.

Radicalisation by extremist groups or individuals can take place in various ways and they target individuals and groups of people that are easily influenced. They target people because of their state of mind, past experiences and sometimes because of their upbringing.

It's important to look out for changes in an individual, here are a few signs that you can look out for:

·         Increased level of anger

·         Distancing themselves from close friends and family

·         Increased secretiveness

·         No longer doing things they used to enjoy

·         Refusing to listen to different points of view

·         Accessing extremism content online

For further guidance please visit: https://www.getsafeonline.org/social-networking/online-radicalisation/

Thames Valley Police, Trading Standards, NatWest, Chiltern and South Bucks District Council, Aylesbury Vale District Council, Wycombe District Council and Buckinghamshire County Council will be sharing various messages on social media, so make sure you are following us!

Alternatively why not log on to the Thames Valley Cyber Crime forum tonight between 7-9pm and ask questions from the comfort of your own home: http://thamesvp.coverpage.coveritlive.com/
