Can I remind everyone - we have Nottingham Knockers across the area.

Please remember our NHW Motto:

I AM SORRY, ID DO NOT BUY GOODS AND SERVICES AT THE DOOR

First in from Madhuri Bajaj Bedi:

Dear friends,

Please find attached the 4th Annual Wave of Light Service poster. I would be most grateful if you would add this to any social media available as well as forward to your database if possible.

The Wave of Light Service enables people from all walks of life, to come together to light a candle of love and remembrance in honour of all those hearts that live on within us. Be it a miscarriage, the loss of a baby, or child, a sibling, grandchild or godchild, a friend or neighbour....everybody is welcome to attend.

I have added details of the service to the Vishaal Foundation Facebook page should you wish to direct people there;

https://www.facebook.com/thevishaalfoundation/

I thank you for your support as always.

Warmest regards

Madhuri

I have had this request in from one of our members.  Does anyone have any advice ?

Hello Jeff

I wonder if you can point me in the right direction please.

My daughter is about to be 14 and a number of mums with children aged about 10-14 were talking about the children being more independent and confident.

We are looking for a class or instructor we can book for a few sessions, to give them some self-defence and common sense for public places and some confidence ( understanding that they won’t be able to do much in reality but hopefully they won’t have to).

We have tried as parents and will continue to teach them the common sense but it would be great, if we could find someone who could back it up for them.

We don’t want to join a martial arts club as an ongoing sport though.

Do you know of anyone who could help me please?

Apologies for taking your time but I thought I would ask.

Thank you

Julietta

Does anyone know of anyone ?

THIS WENT OUT IN MAIDENHEAD TODAY, BUT THIS IS THE SECOND TIME ATM MACHINES HAVE BEEN TARGETED IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS.  PLEASE BE ON YOUR GUARD:

7/10  Sunday 6 p.m.  Bridge Road.  Device discovered on an ATM cash machine.  This was called in by the Borough’s CCTV team, who saw a man approach the ATM, remove something from his pocket and attach it to the fascia.  A customer is then seen to walk up, insert his card, which was retained.  The police were called and attended immediately, removing the device, for further examination.

CRIME:

WINDSOR:

5/10  Friday 2 p.m. / 4 p.m.  William Street.  Bike chained to railings stolen.  A black, hybrid bike.

6/10  Saturday 9.15 a.m. / 9.30 a.m.  Bridgewater Terrace.  Locked up bike stolen.  A black & grey, hybrid bike.

7/10  Sunday Midnight / 10.15 a.m.  Leisure Pool Car Park.  Two bikes recovered from the car park.  They are possibly stolen ?  Do these descriptions match your lost / stolen bike ?

WINDSOR WEST

windsorwestnhpt@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk

CLEWER, DEDWORTH & OAKLEY GREEN:

8/10  Monday 7.20 a.m.  Sheepcote Road.  Burglary.  Entry via forced front door.  Untidy search of the ground floor.  Car keys and a nearly new pair of Nike trainers stolen.  The car is still on the driveway.  The car keys were hanging on a hook in the kitchen.  If you have hooks or a key box in the kitchen, it must be empty !  You do not want an Opportunist Thief to find the box with labelled keys - Front door / back door / Mr. Smith at No 52 / Mrs Jones at No.6 !!!  Keys must be hidden like everything else, where it would take a thief more than 5 minutes to find !

CLEWER EAST & PARK:

NO CRIME TO REPORT.

WINDSOR EAST

windsoreastnhpt@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk

DATCHET, HORTON & WRAYSBURY:

Does anyone know if there is someone out there, who can do this ?  I am Asking our PCSO Surinder Marway, who is trained to deliver talks and courses of this nature - she came to the Datchet NHW Group to do a course, if she can help.

I am afraid the PEC are slow to answer at the moment - hence my recommendation that you let us know using the online reporting system:

NEXT: re the threatening Porn emails:

Hi Jeff,

I myself received one of those threatening emails today at work, where we are supposed to have very safe security measures!!!

I have ignored it and forwarded it to our IT department, so they're aware, but the thing that worried me most about it is that the heading was my full name and actual password I used to use (I don't use that password any more, haven't for years) so they had my password exactly as I used to use it.

The thing is, they had my full name, but I haven't used my married name for over three years now, I reverted back to my maiden name and the email was in my older name, so that old name and old password shows that it's an old hack!

Very disturbing though that they set out my actual password, as if they can find it once, they can find my new one again.

Just letting you know.

Karen

This is why our IT Gurus ask us to have different passwords for different applications and to change them every so often - as we all have to at work.

Many companies we deal with online ask us to set up accounts, so that we can follow / cancel purchases.  We tend to use a standard password for them all as we are never going to remember we set up an account - let alone a separate password for it.

Think of a simple word and change some of the letters to capitals and for similar looking numbers / symbols - then add to it, the appropriate suffix - eBay / PayPal / Nat West Bank - Something I didn’t know - a space  is considered to be a symbol !!!

I am afraid the PEC are slow to answer at the moment - hence my recommendation that you let us know using the online reporting system:
