An investigation has been launched after police officers were called to an incident on the Burwell Estate Witney. On officers arrival up to 70 youths were present with a small number who were aggressive, hostile and violent
Police were called to the area around 11pm on Saturday the 6th of October following reports of teenagers causing a disturbance from a party at Burwell Hall at the location.
Police found around 70 teenagers who some of which used aggressive behaviour to try to prevent an arrest. Two officers were assaulted in the incident that a local sergeant has described as "unacceptable".
Three 16-year-old males were arrested on suspicion of assaulting police and public order offences.
Officers remained in the park until 1am and continued to patrol the area.
Officers were subjected to aggressive, hostile and violent behaviour throughout. This is completely unacceptable and Thames Valley Police will be carrying out an investigation into what happened, including a full review of officers Body Worn Video camera footage.
