This Information update is dated Tuesday 15th May 2018 for Windsor.

 

I have received many requests for more detailed information re the Royal Wedding on Saturday.

HRH Prince Henry of Wales and Ms Meghan Markle, are due to get married on Saturday 19 May 2018 in St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. The couple have expressed the wish to engage with members of the public on the day and this will take the form of a carriage procession through Windsor, following the wedding ceremony

 

The procession route being taken, will be heavily policed, along with RBWM Ambassadors and Ceremonial Wardens. Route map as follows

    1. Rough timings for the day are as follows:
  • 04:00 – Car Parks Open and phased road closures begin
  • 09:30 – Wedding guests begin arriving
  • 12:00 – Wedding Service Begins
  • 13:05 – 13:30 – Procession
  • 2pm onwards – crowd dispersal

 

Road Closures:

 

 

There will be a proactive look out for drones (to be reported back to Police with a description and details if possible of those flying).  No permits for flying drones have been issued in Windsor that weekend.  If you see one, particularly if it is carrying anything other than a camera, please call it through to the police on the 999 number.

 

Visitors planning to drive into Windsor are advised to leave very early and allow extra time for their journeys. There will be a number of road closures from 10pm on Friday 18 May and a further series of road closures from Saturday 19 May. Us this link to get more details:
