Burglaries in Kidlington and District

Alert message sent 07/02/2018 13:31:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Kidlington and District saw a dramatic increase in house burglaries October to Dec 2017, with thirty two offences being reported in three months. Roughly speaking, this was in line with a national increase in burglaries. During this time, TVP have been working hard to reduce this number. January 2018 saw a marked reduction to two offences but February has seen 2 offences already. Our goal is zero. House burglaries remain one of the top four police priorities for the area.
Please don't become complacent. Remain vigilant.
If you still haven't invested in a timer switch for your lights, please do so. Houses that look like the occupants are at home have a reduced burglary risk.
Report crimes in progress using 999. Report suspicious incidents on 101.
And thank you to all of our callers and witnesses who have supported their neighbours and the community by providing eye witness accounts, CCTV, intelligence and statements. We couldn't do it without you.
