Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Here is the latest Faringdon neighbourhood update from PCSO Esme Brown.

Anti-social behaviour (ASB)
We are pleased to say that reports regarding anti-social behaviour at Tuckers Park have reduced this past month but we will continue to patrol the area. Sadly, anti-social behaviour is a continuous issue for us and the community in Faringdon and the surrounding villages and we do encourage you to report any ASB in your area by calling 101 or 999 if a crime is being committed so we can continue to work on resolving these issues.

Crime prevention advice
Unfortunately we have had another incident of vehicle breaks at one of our beauty spot car parks and we will continue to patrol these areas and do our best to deter this issue.
We encourage you to help us by
• Trust locks, not luck – double check your vehicle is secure.
• Display and you will pay – don’t tempt thieves – take belongings with and make sure you don’t leave anything valuable on display, this can include bags, shopping phones, sunglasses and even loose change/money.
• Sat Nav – would you be lost without it? Remove it and make sure to wipe the sucker mark off the windscreen. Even loose charging cables in a car may tempt thieves to see if anything of value is in the vehicle.

What the neighbourhood team have been doing
We are pleased to say that the Faringdon Town Nativity went smoothly and we enjoyed seeing everyone getting into the festive spirit while attending. We also had a productive Day of Action where we were joined by Special Constabulary and Police Cadets to do door knocks around Faringdon to encourage the community to sign up to Thames Valley Alert. If you are not already signed up to this service then please visit www.thamesvalleyalert.co.uk for more information and to sign up. Through this service we aim to improve the flow of information between the community and its police so we can all make a greater impact in the prevention and detection of crime and anti-social behaviour.

Future events/meetings
As a team we will do our best to get to any local events and gatherings throughout the month that we are aware of. If you see us we encourage you to approach and chat to us about any of your concerns or any information that you feel may be of interest to us.

All of us at Faringdon Neighbourhood Team wish you a Happy New Year.
